Product Description

Many people never think of white wine as a candidate to be mulled with spices and served warm, but they're wrong! Your guests will be delightfully surprised if you prepare this delicious recipe for your next winter party - its refreshing, but rich at the same time.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Two 750 ml bottles dry white wine ( Chardonnay, Dry Riesling, or Sauvignon Blanc., etc)
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 orange, sliced into thin wedges

DIRECTIONS:

  • In a large saucepan, warm the wine, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice over medium heat until hot.
  • Lower the heat, partially cover and let steep, without simmering, for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Ladle the mulled wine into 8 heatproof glass mugs.
  • Serve with the orange wedges.
